Gilbert Yvel and Semmy Schilt announces retirement

So last week it was announced that MMA veteran: Gilbert "The Hurricane" Yvel announced his retirement. Unfortunately, Yvel will likely go down in history as a guy who either had little success in PRIDE and bombed in the UFC or as a dirty fighter. While those are true I hope he'll be remembered for his good moments. Hopefully he'll be remembered as a former WVC Superfight Champion & a former RINGS Openweight Champion. Hopefully he'll be remembered for being responsible for one of the most brutal knockouts in MMA history when he head kicked Gary Goodridge into unconciousness. Hopefully he be remembered for his wins over Valentijn Overeem (2x), Tsuyoshi Kohsaka (2x), Semmy Schilt, Gary Goodridge, Kiyoshi Tamura, Cheick Kongo, and Pedro Rizzo. Enjoy retirement Hurricane, thanks for the memories, and good luck in your future.

It's also been announced recently that MMA and Kickboxing legend: Semmy Schilt announced his retirement. In his MMA career, Semtex was a former King of Pancrase Openweight Champion and holds wins over Guy Mezger, Minoru Suzuki, Kazuo Takahashi (3x), Gan McGee, Minowaman, Yuki Kondo, and Masakatsu Funaki. In Kickboxing, Schilt is one of the greatest fighters of all time. He was a 4 time K1 World Grand Prix Winner. He ties with Ernesto Hoost for most K1 World Grand Prix wins but is the only fighter to win 3 years in a row. He also won the K1 Superheavyweight Championship and the GLORY Heavyweight Title. In his retirement fight on New Year's Eve, he won the GLORY Heavyweight Grand Slam 16 man Tournament. He holds wins over Peter Aerts, Jerome Le Banner, Mark Hunt, Remy Bonjasky, Gokhan Saki, and Ernesto Hoost. Enjoy retirement Super Size Samurai and good luck.
