Thoughts on ROH Best In The World 2013
Here are my thoughts of ROH's Best in the World iPPV (Internet Pay-Per-View).
The American Wolves vs. Adrenaline Rush- Should this be the opener it's a great one. Both teams are talented and fun to watch. This will likely be the classic "Ground/strikers vs. High Flyers" match and it should be a good one. I think Wolves win here since I don't see ROH booking Adrenaline Rush to get the upset.
Adam Cole vs. Roderick Strong- My oh my what a difference. We have Adam Cole who's got a lot of potential, charisma, and talent taking on Roderick Strong who is a bland, generic vanilla midget who looks like he's 12 years old. Match should be good but Strong is dull and can drag my interest down. Cole should win but ROH will likely book Strong to win cause he's a ROH staple (see Jay Briscoe winning the World Title).
BJ Whitmer vs. Mike Bennett- This should be decent but can't say I'm looking forward to it. Whitmer is a good and dependable workhorse but he hasn't really meant much in years and Bennett never grew on me. I can see this being decent but dull. I'm guessing ROH books Whitmer to go over since Bennett is rumored to be WWE bound.
Michael Elgin vs. Tommaso Ciampa- This match has the potential to be a sleeper. Both Elgin and Ciampa are two of the brightest stars in ROH and can steal the show here. Hopefully both guys move up from here cause both are too talented to be wrestling in the midcard (though to ROH's defense, Ciampa is coming back from an injury layoff).
ROH World Television Championship/3 Way: Matt Taven (c) vs. Jay Lethal vs. Jimmy Jacobs- One of matches I really don't care about. I've never see Taven before, Lethal is absolutely wasted here as he should be the World Champion now, and Jimmy Jacob's is one of the most stale acts in wrestling. Guess it would be best for Taven to retain but Jacobs will win since they want S.C.U.M. to be a powerful stable.
ROH World Tag Team Championship/3 Way: reDRagon (c) vs. Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander vs. S.C.U.M- Should be one of the better matches. I've never seen reDRagon but both guys are talented. C n' C are the new ANX where they should be the tag team champions but keep getting passed up for tired shitty acts. Compton and Titus are both good but the whole S.C.U.M. concept S.U.C.K.S. I would prefer reDRagon or C n' C to win but S.C.U.M. will win since ROH insists on pushing this lousy act.
Kevin Steen vs. Matt Hardy- Another who cares kind of match. Steen is good but Hardy is washed up, out of shape, and stale. I'm not sure how Steen can carry him given how useless he is. Steen should win but Fatt Hardy will win since ROH is dumb enough to push this clown.
ROH World Heavyweight Championship: Jay Briscoe (c) vs. Mark Briscoe- Five word perfectly sum up this match: Fuck You Ring Of Honor! Seriously this company should be ashamed that they booked Skinhead to win the belt and then have him defend against his redneck retart of a brother: Punch Drunk. Simply put, the Briscoes are two of the absolute shittiest "wrestlers" (if you can even call them that) out there. Nothing but backyard wrestling type spots and drunken gibberish speaking promos. This isn't to determine the "Best in the World" but rather who's the spottiest monkey. Personally neither should be champ and as far as me saying who should win is like asking if either shit or puke is better. Skinhead will retain, Punch Drunk will lose, and anyone who watches it will lose more.
