Looking at American Wrestling in September 2013

A look at American Wrestling in September 2013.

The WWE will hold their Night of Champions on September 15th. The main event will be Randy Orton defending the WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan. Alberto Del Rio will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Rob Van Dam. CM Punk will take on Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman in a handicap match.

(Thoughts: I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of the storyline and wished if WWE was going this route that Orton would win the title in October. Should be a decent match but the result seems like a foregone conclusion since according to the story Vince, HHH, and Stephanie don't want Bryan as the champion. Del Rio vs. Van Dam does nothing for me since Del Rio is boring and Van Dam hasn't been motivated or entertaining in a long time.)

TNA will hold their No Surrender Impact special on September 12th. The event will have the finals of the Bound For Glory series and the winner will face the TNA World Heavyweight Champion at Bound For Glory on October 20th.

(Thoughts: The BFG Series has been fun and I'm looking forward to see who wins. Personally I'm hoping for AJ Styles to win.)

Ring of Honor will hold their yearly Death Before Dishonor show on September 20th. The event will feature the semi-finals and finals of the ROH World Championship tournament featuring Kevin Steen, Michael Elgin, Tommaso Ciampa, and Adam Cole. The event will also feature The Forever Hooligans defending the New Japan Pro Wrestling IWGP Junior Tag Team Championship against former ROH World Tag Team Champions The American Wolves.

(Thoughts: ROH has actually been looking good in the last few months. All four contenders look great and will be good choices as World Champion.)

CZW will hold their show Deja Vu on September 7th. The main event will feature new CZW World Champion Drew Gulak defending against Shane Hollister. The co-main event will see DJ Hyde taking on Jake Crist in a barbed wire match.

The promotion will also hold their yearly Chri$ Ca$h Memorial Show on September 14th.

Wrestling is Fun will hold their next event on September 1st. The event will feature The Special Envoy vs. The Wrecking Crew as well as The Osirian Portal vs. Los Ice Cream.
