If Johny "Bigg Rigg" Hendricks fights again, I want Bruce Buffer to announce him as the following.
"Fighting out of the nearest Whataburger"
Johny "So Bigg he has two gs Rigg" Hendricks
Johny "Bigger than a Big Rig" Hendricks
Johny "More Tires than a Big Rig" Hendricks
You can have a lot of fun with this.
Speaking of Hendricks, I don't think there was a funnier bit where someone failed to make weight since Anthony Johnson before his fight with Vitor Belfort at UFC 142.
So last night was Mike Goldberg's last night in the UFC. Keep in mind, his first night was UFC Ultimate Japan back on December 21, 1997. Here's how long ago that was.
Kazushi Sakuraba made his one and only appearance in the UFC where he won the UFC Ultimate Japan Heavyweight Tournament
Frank Shamrock defeated Kevin Jackson to become the first UFC Light Heavyweight Championship (then Middleweight Championship)
Randy Couture defeated Maurice Smith to win his first UFC Heavyweight Championship
Semaphore Entertainment Group still owned the UFC.

The Grass Isn't Always Greener On The Other Side: Wrestlers Who Did Better In WCW Than WWF/E

The Grass Isn't Always Greener On The Other Side: Wrestlers Who Did Better In WCW Than WWF/E
December 31, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of when the NWA became WCW and what better way to celebrate than honor them? Over the years, it's become tradition for the WWE and certain fans to mock and ridicule WCW for not being organized or a company run by a collection of incompetent morons. While WCW had it's moments and mistakes, things weren't always bad as many wrestlers have actually done better there than in The WWF. So, in honor of WCW, we'll take a look at the wrestlers they used better than The WWF as to some, The WWF was not the be-all, end-all for everyone. Before I begin, I will have two rules for this article. One is I will only talk about wrestlers who wrestled for WCW from January 1991 to March 2001 so time in Jim Crockett Promotions/NWA and the WWF owned WCW don't count. I will also be fair to WWE as well and will not include wrestlers who by the time went to the WWF or WWE had already suffered a serious injury or came in way past their prime specifically Brian Pillman and Sting who will not be included.

Ronda Rousey Does Not Deserve A Title Shot

Ronda Rousey Does Not Deserve A Title Shot
December 23, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

On Friday December 30, 2016, the UFC will host their UFC 207 event. The event will be headlined by a UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship fight between champion Amanda Nunes and former champion Ronda Rousey. The fight will mark Rousey's first fight since losing the title to Holly Holm 13 months ago. The fact Rousey is getting a shot has split the MMA community with some justifying it while other feel she doesn't deserve it. As you can read from the title, I'm one of those who does not think Rousey deserves it and this article will explain why I feel Rousey is not deserving of a title shot.

1986: A Year of What Could've Beens in Professional Wrestling

1986: A Year of What Could've Beens in Professional Wrestling
December 18, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

1986 was a big year in American Wrestling. The WWF was skyrocketing to the top with PPVs, Saturday Night's Main Event specials on NBC, and shows on The USA Network along with Syndication. The NWA had shows on TBS and The AWA along with World Class had shows on ESPN. That same year, many historical moments occurred including the legendary feud between Hulk Hogan and "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff as well as the formation of the legendary Four Horsemen. 1986 would also be legends like Sting, The Ultimate Warrior, and Lex Luger's first full year in the business while other legends like Scott Steiner and Jeff Jarrett made their debuts. Unfortunately, not everyone had a great 1986 as that year saw many promising careers come to an end for one reason or another while others saw the beginning of the end. We'll take a look at five wrestlers who had the wrestling world in their hands only for their careers to end while others saw the beginning of the end.

007 HD Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd - Diamonds are Forever

Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd were awesome Bond villains.

Diamonds Are Forever Intro

Happy 45th Anniversary to Diamonds Are Forever which had it's first premiere today. DAF was the seventh James Bond film and saw the return of Sean Connery to the role after he originally left following 1967's You Only Live Twice and was replaced by George Lazenby for 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service. This was Connery's sixth Bond and his final "official" one with Eon Productions though he did a seventh Bond with the "unofficial" (not done by Eon Productions) 1983 Thunderball remake Never Say Never Again. The movie saw Shirley Bassey return to sing the theme song making her he first singer to do more than one theme (she previously did 1964's Goldfinger and would return for Moonraker in 1979) and she's the only one to do so as of 2016. The movie was also the final official time Bond's nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld and his group S.P.E.C.T.R.E. appeared in a Bond movie until last years Spectre (The Wheelchair Villain at the beginning of For Your Eyes Only was clearly supposed to be Blofeld but not named due to legal reasons).

Almost forgot but today is what would've been the 60th birthday of the great Randy Rhoads. Rhoads, of course, was a founder of Quiet Riot and performed on their first two albums that were only released in Japan as well as the original guitarist for Ozzy Osborne. Rhoads played on the first two Ozzy albums and co-wrote many of the songs. Sadly, we lost Rhoads to a plane crash on March 19, 1982 at only 25 years old. Hard to believe Rhoads would've been sixty. Makes you continue to wonder what else he could've achieved.

Mega Man 4 (NES) Music - Wily Fortress 2

Mega Man 4 (NES) Music - Wily Fortress Intro

Mega Man 4 (NES) Music - Select Screen

Mega Man 4's robot bosses included Skull Man, Dive Man, Bright Man, Ring Man, Pharaoh Man, Dust Man, Drill Man, and...Toad Man. I think this was a time when Capcom was beginning to have a hard time creating new robot bosses though there were plenty of cool robot bosses throughout the years.

Mega Man 4 - Title

Happy 25th Anniversary to Mega Man 4 which was released in Japan on this day. It was the first Mega Man game to have the charged Mega Buster. Sadly, Mega Man 4 also began a dumb trend of Capcom trying to fool fans into believing Mega Man was taking on a new villain only to reveal Dr. Wily always pulling the strings. They would also continue this with the Mega Man X games as well.

Star Trek Undiscovered Country 22 Star Trek VI End Credits Suite

Happy 25th Anniversary to Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country which would be the final movie starring the original cast though many did make guest appearances on other Star Trek shows and movies. The movie was also dedicated to Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry who passed away on October 24, 1991. Apparently, Roddenberry passed only two days after watching the final cut of the movie.

"Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991)" Theatrical Trailer

So today is the 115th birthday of Walt Disney. How about that? Too bad he can't celebrate since he's still cryogenically frozen underneath the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. I think out of all the conspiracy theories out there, I think the one about Walt Disney being cryogenically frozen underneath Disneyland is the one I want to see be true the most.

Just saw Doctor Strange and I enjoyed the movie. Benedict Cumberbatch did a great job in the role and we do see Dr. Strange grow as character with Cumberbatch doing a great job playing the character as the cocky, egotistical know-it-all to someone who matures by the end of it while realizing there's more to life than his ego. Chiwetel Ejiofor is also great as Mordo playing him as a good man but one who falls at the end of it because he loses faith in what he believed in and becomes twisted because he believes everything he believed in was a lie. The special effects and music were also great while the movie had the typical Marvel stuff like the one liners or funny moments after a serious one.

Kiss Carr Jam 1981

A great instrumental that shows the talent Carr had.

Queen - Innuendo (Official Video)

One of my favorite Queen songs as it's from Innuendo.

Sadly today is a sad milestone in music history as it's the 25th anniversary of the passing of Freddie Mercury and KISS' second drummer Eric Carr. Mercury passed due to bronchopneumonia as a result from AIDS. As is well documented, Mercury only confirmed he had AIDS a day earlier almost like it was the last thing he needed to do in terms of getting his affairs in order. Of course, his illness was a badly kept secret since it was obvious especially by 1990/1991 he was sick and that fact Queen suspiciously didn't tour after 1986 despite continuing to release albums. Mercury was only 45. Carr passed due to heart cancer which he got diagnosed with in February 1991 and fought it all year including open heart surgery and chemo which seemed to work but then suffered an aneurysm only two days after his last public appearance at the 1991 MTV Video Music Awards that September. Sadly, Carr then suffered a brain hemorrhage and never regained consciousness. Carr was probably KISS' best drummer as he seemed to fit in more than original drummer Peter Criss and brought a harder style to the band which gave them heavier sound which Gene Simmons said. Carr was 41 and was the first KISS alumni to pass away (the only other to date is third guitarist Mark St. John in 2007).

The Dark World - The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Zelda: A Link to the Past - TV Commercial 1

Happy 25th Anniversary to The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past which was first released in Japan on this day. What can I say that hasn't been said? One of the greatest games of all time and true masterpiece. I think I speak for most of the video game community when I say that if anybody considers themselves a video game fan, they have to play this game at least once in their lives. A true video game treasure.

Top Ten Characters In Resident Evil That Need To Return

Top Ten Characters In Resident Evil That Should Return
November 19, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

This year marked the 20th anniversary of the Resident Evil video game series. In that time, we've seen many great and iconic characters from top protagonists Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy, and Claire Redfield to former top antagonist Albert Wesker to recurring character Ada Wong. However, the series has featured many other characters who have largely been one and done despite surviving their games. What happened to them? There's been a lot of interesting characters and here are ten characters that should return in future Resident Evil games. Keep in mind, Most of the characters I'll be mentioning with one exception will be characters who's games take place at least ten years ago so no RE5, Revelations 2, and Resident Evil 6 characters since those games take place between 2009-2013 and are recent.

KISS/Music From The Elder-I

Kiss - A World Without Heroes - With Lyrics

KISS/Music From The Elder-Dark Light

KISS/Music From The Elder-Under The Rose

On this day 35 years ago, KISS released their ninth album Music From The Elder. The album was KISS' attempt at a concept album to appeal to critics but it largely became the biggest flop KISS did as they were already in severe decline in America at that point and this made it worse. To this day, it's one of the few KISS studio albums not to be certified. It was the second album produced by Bob Ezrin who previously produced Destroyer and was coming off co-producing Pink Floyd's The Wall. It was the debut album of second drummer Eric Carr and the last to involve Ace Frehley until Psycho Circus 17 years later as the album was the final straw for Frehley who quit a year later but not before refusing to participate in Creatures of The Night. However, I personally enjoy the album as it was good but wrong place at the wrong time.

Charles Bronson - Kinjite

Bronson's also great at handling pimps. From Kinjite: Forbidden Subjects.

The Simpsons - Charles Bronson on The Andy Griffith Show

What would've made The Andy Griffith Show a bigger classic? Why, if Charles Bronson replaced Griffith on the show. Funny idea from The Simpson. By the way, I love how they say "a young Charles Bronson" when The Andy Griffith Show began in October 1960 which was a month before he turned 39. Sure that's not old but he wasn't a 20 something kid.

Death Wish 2 | Do You Believe in Jesus?

Probably one of the funniest and bad ass scenes in American Cinema with Bronson as Paul Kersey confronting a mugger who raped and killed his daughter, asking him if believe in Jesus with the mugger saying he did, and Bronson assuring him he'll be meeting him before blowing him to kingdom come.

Oh fuck. I forgot yesterday is what would've been Charles Bronson's 95th birthday. Bronson was of course best known for being one of Hollywood's tough guys appearing in movies like The Magnificent Seven, The Great Escape, The Dirty Dozen, Once Upon A Time In The West, and The five Death Wish movies. Bronson passed away on August 30, 2003 at the age of 81 due to pneumonia and Alzheimer's disease.

A Look Back At The Universal Wrestling Federation 30 Years Later

A Look Back At The Universal Wrestling Federation 30 Years Later
November 1, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

In March 1986, Wrestling Legend and Promoter Bill Watts attempted to go national when he transformed his Mid South Wrestling promotion into the Universal Wrestling Federation. On paper, Watts seemed to have just about everything to make it work. He was a great promoter and booker who could book episodic TV, he had some of the best wrestlers in America, many great young prospects, and raided World Class Championship Wrestling of some of their best. Unfortunately, The UWF would last until April 1987 when Watts sold to Jim Crockett who eventually shut it down in December 1987. Many have blamed the oil recession that occurred in the fall of 1986 as being the big reason why as The UWF was headquartered in the Mid South which was hit the hardest by it. However, if you look at it, The UWF likely was doomed regardless and we'll take a look at what they had going for them as well as against them.

Super Castlevania IV OST: Ending

Bloody Tears: Super Castlevania 4 Music

Simon's Theme: Super Castlevania 4 Music

Happy 25th Anniversary to the classic Super Castlevania IV which came out on this day 25 years ago in Japan and December 4th in America. Though a remake of Castlevania, the game was actually different as the game was not identical or an updated version that you would expect from remakes. In a way, it's a remake only in story. I usually agree with The Angry Video Game Nerd in that it's the best Castlevania game with the graphics being rich for Super Nintendo and the music was some of the best in the series. However, as the video game box said "Just Be Sure To Tell Your Next Of Kin Before You Begin".

MMA Fights To Look Forward To In November 2016

A few years ago, I wrote about looking at the MMA world every month and having wanted to do something like this for a while, I decided to try and showcase the fights that fans should look forward to during the month. For now, I'll look at most of the top MMA companies like UFC, Bellator, WSOF, ONE, and Rizin since I'm most familiar with them.

Oh yeah, going back to The Rock n' Roll Hall of Assholes (Credit goes to Eddie Trunk). I love how they are so picky with the musicians. For the most part, they usually want to just put the originals in as if the originals are the only ones who made any sort of contribution. There are few times when they pick one of two later members like Matt Sorum with Guns n' Roses but that's it. Nice to see that no matter how much you contribute to a band whether it be touring, songwriter, and playing on an album, you likely don't mean shit. My favorite example of this cherry picking bullshit is Black Sabbath as they only put the originals in. Really? No Ronnie James Dio, Vinnie Appice, Ian Gillian (who has since gone in as part of Deep Purple), Glenn Hughes, Bob Daisley, Eric Singer, Ray Gillian, Tony Martin, and Cozy Powell? Nice to see these legends get snubbed.
I fucking hate the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Just read the potential nominees. Tupac? He was a fucking rapper. Janet Jackson? Meanwhile, No Blue Oyster Cult, Ozzy Osbourne as a solo artist, Dokken, Slaughter, Winger, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Dio, Gary Moore, Motorhead (extra fuck you to the HOF for not inducting them when Lemmy was alive despite having plenty of chances), Thin Lizzy, Quiet Riot, Lita Ford, The Michael Schenker Group, Whitesnake, and Rainbow to name some. Also, bout time The Cars, Journey, and Yes became nominees. The Sex Pistols were right. It is a piss stain.

BJ Penn: Please Stay Retired

BJ Penn: Please Stay Retired
October 7, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

On July 6, 2014, MMA Legend BJ Penn suffered a third straight loss to long time rival Frankie Edgar. Following this, Penn announced his retirement and acknowledged that he never should've came back after having been out for more than a year. It appeared as though one of the greatest careers in MMA History came to a close or so we thought. In January 2016, Penn announced he would return to competition and to say the least, it's a mistake. Sadly, Penn will likely go down as another fighter who stayed way too long and in this article, we'll take a look at why it's best for The Prodigy to stay retired.

Why Professional Wrestling Deserves More Respect In MMA

Why Professional Wrestling Deserves More Respect In MMA
October 6, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

Professional Wrestling has an interesting history when it comes to Mixed Martial Arts. However, because of wrestling's status as a red headed step child of entertainment as well as sport, it's largely ridiculed. In the MMA world, it's largely no different. When wrestling is brought up, MMA fans are quick to dismiss it as fake and mock it. Like a lot of people that aren't wrestling fans, they appear to be embarrassed by it. When CM Punk made his MMA and UFC debut, fighters and fans mocked him and wanted him to go back to the fake wrestling. However, professional wrestling and wrestlers deserve far more respect in the MMA world. In fact, professional wrestling and wrestlers are either responsible for legendary moments and/or careers. Some legendary fighters started as wrestlers while others did wrestling afterwards. In fact, wrestling has a deep history in Mixed Martial Arts.

Mr. Fuji: Wrestling's Most Underrated Manager

Mr. Fuji: Wrestling Most Underrated Manager
September 29, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

On August 28, 2016, the wrestling world lost one of it's all time greats in Mr. Fuji. During a 30 year career, Fuji enjoyed big success as a pro wrestler and later, a manager. However, to the hardcore wrestling fans, Fuji has been considered a bad manager and was voted "Worst Manager of the Year" eleven times by readers of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. While Fuji was never a great talker, there is more to being a great manager than having a silver tougue. In this article, I will honor a wrestling legend by explaining why he is wrestling's most underrated manager and what he did bring to the table.

Top Wrestlers Who Did Better In TNA Than WWE

Top Wrestlers Who Did Better In TNA Than WWE
September 24, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

For years, TNA Wrestling has been a promotion that has been a punching bag in the industry especially to smart fans. Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer once made the claim that TNA was considered a "career killer" and people on social media have said certain TNA wrestlers should go to WWE or NXT. However, nothing could be further from the truth as many wrestlers have been wasted in WWE only to see their potential or success in TNA. With the recent arrival of Aron Rex (formerly Damien Sandow) and Cody Rhodes, I figured it would be great to create a list of men and women who were wasted in WWF/E only to see their careers reach new heights in TNA. Keep in mind for this list, I'm only including wrestlers who first were in WWE and then went to TNA. I'm also not going to include wrestlers who was justifiably fired by the WWE for one reason or another (Mr. Anderson and Bram).

He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask)

As the album says: "Theme From The Motion Picture Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives".

Trick Bag

Happy 30th Anniversary to the Alice Cooper album Constrictor. The album was Cooper's comeback album after a three year layoff due to his addictions to alcohol and his marriage nearly falling apart. Though this was Cooper's first album since 1983's Dada, it's the first in nearly a decade that sounded like an Alice Cooper album with his albums between 1978-1983 being experimental. The album introduced Cooper to a newer generation and began his heavy metal period. This was also the first album to feature the awesome Rambo-like guitarist Kane Roberts and Kip Winger. The songs "Teenage Frankenstein" and "He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask)" appeared in the movie Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives while "The Great American Success Story" was rumored to be for the Rodney Dangerfield movie Back To School.

Road to Nowhere

Hellraiser

Happy 25th anniversary to the Ozzy Osbourne album No More Tears. The album was Osbourne's sixth studio album and the last to feature drummer Randy Castillo and bassist Bob Daisley. Daisley had played bass up to that point on all but The Ultimate Sin album while co-writing most of the songs in the first five albums. Lemmy of Motorhead co-wrote three songs on the album.

Guns N' Roses - The Garden

Had to put this one up giving Alice does guest vocals.

Guns N' Roses - Yesterdays

Guns N' Roses - Estranged

Another favorite. kind of a sad song but a beautiful song. The video is cheesy but I like it. The concert footage was from a show in Munich, Germany on June 26, 1993 one month before the Use Your Illusion tour ended after 26 months. Knowing that makes the video a little sad giving that band members went on record saying they hoped the tour would never end because they knew the band would be over once it did.

Guns N' Roses - Don't Cry

Another classic. Interesting notes as Izzy left right before the video and Gilby Clarke had yet to be hired so there's no rhythm guitarist. The band even joked about it with the "Where's Izzy" sign. Shannon Hoon of Blind Melon guests in the video. Sad irony is the end of the video showing Axl approaching his tombstone which states "1962-1990" implying Axl only lived to be 28. While thankfully the band has lived much longer, the same couldn't be said for Hoon who ironically did die at 28 in 1995 due to a cocaine overdose.

Guns N' Roses - November Rain

One of my favorite ballads as well as songs all together. Interesting note is that the video was reportedly inspired by the short story "Without You" from GnR Road Manager Del James. The story would appear in James' 1995 book "The Language of Fear" which Axl wrote the forward to.

Happy 25th Anniversary to the Guns n' Roses albums Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II which were released on this day in America in 1991 while being released a day earlier in the UK. The album was a rare case of a band releasing two studio albums the same day and I believe was the first where they went to the top 2 positions (Ironically I went to #2 while II went to #1). The albums were the first to feature drummer Matt Sorum (Steven Adler did drum on Civil War before being fired after reportedly needing 70 times to do the album due to his drug addictions), long time keyboardist DIzzy Reed (who has been the only one of the band never to have left and remained through it all), and the last to feature Izzy due to him leaving in November 1991. Guest artists included Alice Cooper and Blind Melon's Shannon Hoon. The double album, of course, proved to be the last album of original material until 2008's Chinese Democracy.

Queen - These Are The Days Of Our Lives (Official Video)

Today is what would've been Freddie Mercury's 70th birthday. Mercury, of course, passed away on November 24, 1991 at 45. Today is also the 25th anniversary of These Are The Days Of Our Lives being released as a single from Innuendo. The video was the final music video Mercury did as it was recorded on May 30, 1991, six months before his death. Sadly, it's obvious watching the video Mercury didn't have long to go even with the smoke and mirrors but was still a pro in participating.

Fifth Year Anniversary of Sinclair Buying Ring of Honor and Why It's Been a Failure

Fifth Year Anniversary of Sinclair Buying Ring of Honor and Why It's Been a Failure
August 30, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

On May 21, 2011, Ring of Honor announced that Sinclair Broadcasting Group, an American Telecommunications Company, had bought the company. Following the announcement, many from ROH personal to fans had high hopes that this is what ROH needed to take them to the next level with many believing they would overtake TNA as the #2 promotion in America. Now five years later, not only has that not happened but the company has arguably gotten worse. So what went wrong? Why hasn't ROH made the growth people hoped they would've?

When it comes to ROH's short comings over the last five years, we need to look at it in two parts because the blame can't be focused on one side. Some of the faults fall on Sinclair and some fall on ROH itself. When it comes to Sinclair, the biggest problem is that despite giving the impression they were behind ROH, they've never shown it once they bought the company. According to Jim Cornette from his Breaking Kayfabe DVD from Kayfabe Commentaries, Sinclair never followed through on things as he claimed to have wrote the proposal that led to them buying the company. While you have to take what Cornette says with a grain of salt, he paints a pretty ugly picture. He claimed that Sinclair were looking at buying a warehouse type building for ROH that could be used as the company's offices, hold their merchandise, and be used for their TV Tapings and training facility but nothing came of it.

The company also wouldn't invest much in the promotion as they apparently didn't buy pipe and drape which led to shows that looked bad and more empty because of it. They were cheap with the new website which has problems multiple times during the early months. The reportedly didn't supply the company with quality television cameras for more than a year after the purchase and then supplied them with faulty equipment that their media crews didn't want to use. They were completely incompetent with the internet pay-per-views to the point where it became a tradition for ROH to have some technical difficulties and black outs. While the latter happened before Sinclair bought the organization, it didn't get better for awhile afterwards and it doesn't help that Sinclair should've put money in to make sure these incidents didn't happen.

Television has been another problem as ROH was first put in syndicated markets beginning in September 2011 but despite the stations being owned by Sinclair, they didn't get any special treatment as most markets air the show either on weekend afternoons or in the middle of the night. The majority of the markets don't air it on prime time which is where most people will likely be watching which means ROH is likely not getting the biggest audience it could get. Then there's Sinclair's newest channel called COMET which began in late 2015 and ROH began airing in December. Yet, despite the station being owned by Sinclair, ROH is put on late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning at midnight. That's right. Even on a station owned by it's owner, ROH can't get a prime time slot. Again, ROH is not going to attract many eyes with a weak timeslot even in an age where DVR exists.

Sinclair also retained Jim Cornette and made him the company's executive producer. While Cornette is beloved by the internet wrestling community, anybody who knows Cornette's history knows he's a ticking time bomb with a short fuse that's waiting to burst. By September 2011, Cornette had seen himself get fired by the top two promotions in America in WWE and TNA less than a decade before (WWE in 2005 and TNA in 2009). He also has proven to be a rageaholic at his worst and can explode at any moment something doesn't go to his liken or when someone suggests something he doesn't like. Cornette was also notorious for being extremely outdated as his wikipedia profile is the definition of outdated. Throughout his history as a booker, Cornette has desperately tried to turn back the clock to the 1970s which was the kind of wrestling he was watching as a kid. Cornette has never been able to understand the business has changed and what worked decades ago won't work now. Ironically, despite many believing Cornette's was a great match for ROH (I was one of those who used to believe that), Cornette is technically a disaster for ROH as ROH is supposed to be a company who used to have the slogan "We Don't Imitate...We Innovate". An organization trying to be innovative and try new things is not where Cornette belongs. In the end, Cornette's run in ROH proved to be a disaster in every way. Behind the scenes, Cornette was not a fan of the Kevin Steen/El Generico (Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, respectively) feud despite the fact it was the hottest feud ROH had at one point. He also was against using the independent tag team The Super Smash Bros. (Player Uno & Player Dos) because he thought the casual fans wouldn't get them all the while admitting to mocking the hardcore ROH fans who were disappointed in ROH not using them. He also brought in many aging or ex-WWE guys he mostly knew from OVW or years gone by like Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin), Mike Mondo, and The Headbangers with none of them truly catching on. WGTT won the Tag Team Championship twice but weren't as hot as their 2003 run in the WWE was but then again, that was the last time the team was relevant. Mondo was a former WWE World Tag Team Champion as part of The Spirit Squad but didn't get over despite being a solid wrestler and was likely hired and given repeated opportunites because Cornette worked with him in Ohio Valley Wrestling. The Headbangers worked with Cornette in the dying months of Smoky Mountain Wrestling in 1995 and while they were former WWF & NWA World Tag Team Champions, the team peaked in the late 90s and haven't meant anything since they originally broke up in 2000. It also didn't help they were in their 40s and well past their primes. Cornette also brought in Dan "The Beast" Severn for a brief period to mentor Eddie Edwards and while Severn is a legend in both professional wrestling and MMA, his peak ended in the early 2000s with no one outside hardcore fans knowing who he is in 2011. While Cornette has claimed he was never the booker, the period of 2011-2012 would argue otherwise as many ideas and storylines had Cornette written all over it. During this period, ROH saw outdated ideas like WGTT defeating the Briscoe Brothers with an either soaked rag, a big deal about the piledriver being banned & then it being lifted for a match, $10,000 Challenge matches, and Davey Richards booked as white meat babyface during his World Title run which resulted in fans turning on him. To say the least, Cornette is the only one in the 2010s to book the first three things since they all went out by the 1990s. Along with booking, Cornette was also a nightmare as his attitude hurt things backstage as well when he ran afoul with Greg Gilliland. Gilliland, a former office boy from accounting brought in to help run ROH's day-to-day operations, became Cornette's new archnemesis as the two went at it repeatedly. While Cornette claims Gilliland (who he nicknamed Greg The Office Boy) was unpopular backstage, Cornette didn't help his cause with his behavior as he went off at times as it was the same situation he had with Vince Russo in WWF & TNA and Kevin Dunn in WWF as he became unbearable. Even Cornette admitted that ROH's weekly conference calls were him vs. Gilliland in arguments. Cornette would eventually seal his fate following a bad TV Taping in November 2012 as Bell Vernon, Pennsylvania when he was heard shouting that he wanted to gouge Gilliland's eyes out.

However, not all the blame can go to Sinclair as ROH itself is just as guilty of their decline. One reason being that it's failed to cater to casual wrestling fans. One huge reason ROH is stuck as the #3 promotion with not much hope they'll get bigger is they continue to mostly cater to the internet wrestling community instead of casuals. While there isn't anything wrong with playing to the hardcore fans, they're only a fraction of wrestling's fanbase. The majority of the WWE fanbase are casuals who do love wrestling but at the same time, are not going to love a wrestler or a show because of workrate or because the matches are long or certain wrestlers had a five star match. If ROH wants any chance to grow then they must find a way to cater to casual fans or they'll remain the #3 or a big indy with no chance of growth. It's been proven over the years that while the hardcore fans are probably the loudest fans, they're not the majority of wrestling fans. ECW catered to the hardcore fans and never grew much despite eventually having a cable TV deal and Pay-Per-Views. When WCW tried to do storylines in 1999 that only internet fans would understand, they flopped because the internet fans didn't buy it while casuals didn't understand what was going on. Whenever companies have pushed an "internet darling", a lot of times, they didn't catch on with the casuals and weren't big draws. Meanwhile, wrestlers that have been deemed talentless or not good by the hardcore audiences are loved by the casual fans and usually get the biggest reactions at the shows. Now, I'm not saying casuals and hardcore fans won't like the same wrestlers as they can both agree on many but it's probably best for business to think of what would draw in casuals over hardcore if you have aspirations of going national and potentially competing with WWE and TNA.

The company has also constantly figured out ways to squander talent. While ROH has had success with men like Adam Cole, Matt Taven, and reDRagon, Ring of Honor has had many excellent prospects but rarely has been able to fully utilize them. Michael Elgin was a talented big man who seemed like "can't miss" especially following his winning the 2011 Survival of the Fittest Tournament and a critically acclaimed match with Davey Richards back in March 2012. After that though, Elgin's stock began to drop as the company began to wait too long to pull the trigger and it took them to June 2014 to finally put the World Title on him only to then have to have him drop it two months later due to visa issues. After that, Elgin never seemed to recover as he became a villain for no reason and drifted for a year before seemingly bouncing back by winning the SOTF 2015 tournament at the end of the year and becoming a fan favorite. Unfortunately, Elgin failed to regain the championship at Wrestle Kingdom X In Tokyo Dome in January and then left the company to sign full time with New Japan. Tommaso Ciampa also seemed lost in the shuffle in his last year after he lost the ROH TV Title to Jay Lethal in April 2014 and then did little to nothing as he became a villain and had a forgettable feud with Elgin before leaving in early 2015 to work for NXT. To be fair, Ciampa's feud with Elgin likely got hurt due to Elgin's visa issues. Cedric Alexander looked like he was destined for a singles push when he feuded with veteran Roderick Strong in the spring of 2014 but despite winning the feud, Alexander's career went nowhere as he was rudderless for a year as a fan favorite, turned villain, and then spent a year wasted as a jobber until finally bailing in the spring of 2016 to take part in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic which could lead to a full time job. Mike Bennett seemed like another "can't miss" but aside from winning the 2011 Top Prospect Tournament, the company seemed to sit on him. While he did get involved with names like Matt Hardy and Lance Storm, the company took forever to put a title on him as it wasn't until September 2015 when he finally won one in the ROH World Tag Team Championship. Unfortunately, it was too late as Bennett's future with ROH was up in the air for much of 2015 due to failed contract negotiations and Bennett finally left in December after he dropped the tag titles and went to TNA in January 2016.

Along with former talent, ROH has also done little with their current prospects. ACH is a guy they appear to be high on and the announcers hype him up but the problem is that he's not booked to be special as he has yet to get that huge signature win that gets him to the next level. He's also not won one title in ROH despite the fact he's been under contract for three years. Adam "Hangman" Page started working for ROH in 2011 and by 2014 was in a storyline with The Decade stable as a young boy before becoming a member in 2015 during which time he was a villain. In early 2016, Page became a fan favorite and began feuding with former mentor BJ Whitmer only to then become a villain by May when he joined Bullet Club. Same problem happened with Donovan Dijak as he came in and won the 2015 Top Prospects Tournament only to be wasted all year as a stooge for the House of Truth where he was a villain. He got kicked out in December 2015 and became a fan favorite only to become a villain again one month later. Both Page and Dijak were in the same boat as they wasted a year of their careers as stooges or sidekicks then became fan favorites only to immediately become villains again. It's like ROH has no idea what to do with either guy or make up their mind.

The company has also become obsessed with their working relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling to the point where they bring in New Japan guys more and more. Originally, most of the New Japan's wrestler only appeared for the yearly Global Wars shows which was fine but more and more, we've been seeing them on other big shows. In fact, out of the four PPVs to date in 2016 that Ring of Honor held, three heavily featured New Japan talent. It's gotten to the point where they're relying on New Japan like a crutch. Even worse is that most of the time, ROH doesn't get much from the deal. When shows heavily feature New Japan guys, the New Japan guys almost always beat ROH wrestlers. The majority of the time when ROH beat New Japan guys, it's either tag matches featuring a New Japan guy teaming with a ROH guy or the ROH guy beats a rookie/young lion. Almost every time a ROH wrestler takes on one of the New Japan's top names in one-on-one, they almost always lose. It's gotten to the point where even some wrestling reporters such as Dave Meltzer are saying that New Japan's wrestlers are coming off as the bigger stars over ROH's. In a business relationship like this, you should have it be where both sides work together and benefit but it feels like the deal mostly benefits New Japan while ROH sees their wrestlers come off inferior. Another problem is by heavily relying on New Japan guys, it results in the fans eventually only caring when they show up and may not care enough to go to average ROH shows or by overusing them, they no longer come across as special and the fans stop caring since they've seen the same New Japan wrestlers multiple times a year. Also, while bringing in New Japan guys at times can by cool, ROH should focus on their own future by using slots for their events or for TV with full time guys who can be stars in the future.

The company has also done a terrible job of retaining talent. People talk about wrestlers leaving TNA but at least TNA has retained many especially with their prospects while ROH has lost all sorts of wrestlers from vets to prospects. Since Sinclair bought Ring of Honor, we've seen Kevin Steen (Kevin Owens), El Generico (Sami Zayn), Jimmy Jacobs, Mike Bennett, Moose, Roderick Strong, Michael Elgin full time, Tommaso Ciampa, Cedric Alexander, The King's of Wrestling, Kenny King (who later came back), and The Wolves all leave. While some were stale and needed to go like Jacobs and Strong, many were blows to the company as many top stars and prospects have slipped through their fingers. If ROH has any chance of growing then they need to be able to keep their talent especially prospects who can be stars of the future and they need to come off as a place where guys and girls should want to be and stay at instead of using it to eventually move to the WWE or TNA. By having wrestlers leave at the rate they have, it makes ROH a company where up and coming talent go to only to ply their trade until getting called to the big leagues which makes them come off like the big indy companies.

ROH has also not done the best job with their belts. From 2011-2014, ROH did a good job with the ROH Television Championship for the most part but then began making questionable decisions in 2014 when Jay Lethal regained the championship. Now, while there's nothing wrong with Lethal winning he belt, he held it for over eighteen months and he didn't need to. Even worse is that by the time the title reign ended, it not only dragged on and on and on but he was also ROH World Champion in the last four months of his reign. Then the title went to Roderick Strong who didn't need it and ROH could've established a new star by having them end the title reign. After that, the belt went to New Japan's Tomohiro Ishii who, while a great wrestler, was another poor choice as Ishii didn't bring more prestige to the belt and was barely around as he won it on a tour of Japan in February 2016, made two title defenses for ROH, and then wasn't seen for two and a half months until he lost it. Again, it felt like a young guy could've won it instead of someone who was MIA. It also didn't add anything either like more prestige. Since then, Bobby Fish has won it and while Fish is a great wrestler, it can be argued that an up and comer could benefit more from having it while Fish is already established as part of reDRagon. The World Title situation has also been too repetitive. While the company has booked Austin Aries, Jay Briscoe, and Adam Cole to regain the title, wrestlers rarely regain the title and it's almost like when someone wins the ROH World Championship, it's their "turn" and when they lose it, then it's somebody else's turn while they likely never get the belt back because they had their turn. Meanwhile, almost every title reign especially during the Sinclair era have had title reigns that went six months to a year plus. Since Davey Richards won the championship shortly after the purchase, there have been eight reigns. Not counting current champion Adam Cole's recent reign, only two of the seven other reigns lasted less than six months and there was reasons because of it as Michael Elgin's reign ended due to visa issues (Elgin is Canadian) while Jay Briscoe's first reign ended due to his contract ending. Every other title reign goes at least nine months. While wrestling companies don't want their belts to be hot potatoes or have a situation like the WWE has where guys like Cena and Orton are 12-15 time champions, not every title reign can go 6-12 months or else it doesn't mean anything because every reign is that long. It's not special when someone has a year long title reign because everybody who wins it has reigns that go that long or near it. A great championship should have a nice mix of long and short reigns as well as some winning the championship more than others. A championship doesn't mean as much if almost everybody that's held it held it the same amount of times and had the same length of reign.

Having giving all these examples, it's safe to say that the Sinclair Broadcasting purchase has been a colossal disappointment. Ring of Honor hasn't been able to get the most out of the situation but if Sinclair can ever truly get behind them while the company corrects a lot of their mistakes then they have a chance to get bigger. Whether that happens or not is another story.

Kiss - God Gave Rock And Roll To You II - Music Video 1991

The music video for God Gave Rock And Roll To You II. Featured drummer Eric Carr in his last contribution before his passing.

Bill

Happy 25th anniversary to the KISS song God Gave Rock n' Roll To You II which is one of the classic KISS songs. Originally a remake of a Russ Ballard song, it was co-written by Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Bob Ezrin with Ballard getting a co-writing credit. It originally appeared as a single and the end credits for the movie Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey and later on KISS' Revenge album. The song would be the first song recorded by current drummer Eric Singer and the final song to feature second drummer Eric Carr as he sang back up vocals before passing away in November 1991 due to cancer. There's technically two versions of the song with the movie version featuring a bad ass guitar intro from Steve Vai.

Bon Jovi - Livin' On A Prayer

Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead Or Alive

Bon Jovi - You Give Love A Bad Name

Happy 30th Anniversary to Bon Jovi's breakout album: Slippery When Wet. Although, I'm not a big Bon Jovi (though I don't know why since their music is right up my alley). The album features many signature songs including You Give Love A Bad Name, Livin' On A Prayer, Raise Your Hands, I'd Die For You, and Dead or Alive. The album was also the first to feature songwriting from the brilliant, legendary songwriter and producer Desmond Child who co-wrote You Give Love A Bad Name, Livin' On A Prayer, I'd Die For You, and would later co-write Bad Medicine and Born To Be My Baby for the follow up New Jersey. The album was also the first to be produced by legendary producer Bruce Fairbairn who later produced the follow up New Jersey.

Vinnie Vincent Invasion - Invasion

This song features one of my favorite guitar solos as I love the shredding style. Fleischman's vocals are also powerful.

Vinnie Vincent Invasion - Back On The Streets

Boyz Are Gonna Rock (2003 Digital Remaster)

Happy 30th anniversary to the self titled Vinnie Vincent Invasion album which is one of the great rock albums. Vinnie Vincent Invasion was fronted by former KISS guitarist Vinnie Vincent who is unquestionably one of the most underrated guitarist of all time. Shame his career never went anywhere and became a recluse because he should be known as one of the greatest guitarist. Outside of his work with KISS and VVI, Vincent also worked as a staff songwriter for Happy Days and Joanie Loves Chachi. The band also featured future Slaughter bassist and co-founder Dana Strum who also gained fame for introducing Randy Rhoads to Ozzy Osbourne and then discovering Jake E. Lee for Osbourne. Future Nitro and Nelson drummer Bobby Rock was the drummer and Robert Fleischmann was the vocalist having previously worked for Journey from June-November 1977 but did no albums.

A Look At Scott Coker's Bellator Run Two Years Later

A Look At Scott Coker's Bellator Run Two Years Later
July 28, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

On June 18, 2014, Bellator MMA and Viacom made the announcement that Bellator CEO and chairman Bjorn Rebney had left the company and replacing him would be former Strikeforce CEO and Founder Scott Coker. In the two years since he became CEO, Coker has made many changes to the point where the organization is, in many ways, not the same as it once was. So what has Scott Coker gotten right? What has he gotten wrong? We'll take a look at both as there's plenty of both.

Blue Oyster Cult: Veteran of the Psychic Wars

Blue Oyster Cult - Burnin' For You

It was on this month 35 years ago that Blue Oyster Cult released their eighth album Fire of Unknown Origin. It was notably the last album to feature the originals before drummer Albert Bouchard left. It was the last album to feature the original five until 1988's Imaginos.

Don Frye: A Hall of Fame Career Full of What Could've Beens

Don Frye: A Hall of Fame Career Full of What Could've Beens

By Ryan Porzl

On July 10, 2016, MMA Legend and Pioneer Don "The Predator" Frye was rightfully inducted in the UFC Hall of Fame. The induction could be considered long overdue and occurred on the twentieth anniversary he began his career. During his on and off fifteen year career, Frye had a legendary run that featured one of the greatest rookie years in the sports history to fun fights to tournament victories to beating good fighters for the time. Then, beginning in 1997, Frye's career began a period that would plague him for the remaining 14 years that involved sabbaticals, injuries, not taking time off at certain periods, addiction, and lack of motivation. While Frye would have many great fights, scored some very good wins, and lost to mostly good fighters, he never achieved the same potential that he showed in 1996. This article will showcase some of Frye's best moments but also bring up the stuff that preventing him from doing even greater things as we take a look at his career from start to finish. Bear in mind that I'm a huge Don Frye fan and he was one of the first fighters I followed when I first got into MMA so this isn't meant to be insulting him or questioning his legacy.

Dusty Rhodes vs. Ric Flair - NWA World Championship Match: Great America...

On this day 30 years ago, "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes defeated "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair to win his third, and ultimately, final NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Rhodes previously held the championship from August 21, 1979 to August 26, 1979 and June 21, 1981 to September 17, 1981. Rhodes would eventually lose it back to Flair on August 9th. Wish he held it longer but better to have won and lost then never to have held it. Was nice to see Rhodes with the Big Gold Belt.
Also, want to say fuck you to the WWE for this footage. Seriously, WWE. It's only fucking blood so stop acting like pussies and releasing black and white footage. I can still see the blood and it's not going to scar any kid.

A Look At The WWE Split and Why It's A Bad Idea

A Look At The WWE Split and Why It's A Bad Idea
July 9, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

After months of rumors, the WWE made the announcement that they would bring back the brand split in July. While many fans have asked for the split to return, it's a very bad idea and I'll explain why the split was better left in the past as well as why the WWE is also ill-equipped and ill-prepared. I also want to bring up that when talking about certain divisions and wrestlers, I'm not going to give my opinion of whether they're good or not because that's only my opinion.

Donkey Kong Theme song

Terminator 2 Theme - 1080p - High Quality

Happy 25th Anniversary to Terminator 2: Judgment Day. I'll admit that I'm not in the majority who consider it better than the first movie as there were things I didn't care for and some things I hated but it had it's moments that I like. It definitely has one of the greatest intro in movies.

Alice Cooper - Might As Well Be On Mars

The title is goofy but the song is excellent.

Alice Cooper - Feed My Frankenstein

Alice Cooper - Love's A Loaded Gun

Alice Cooper - Hey Stoopid

Happy 25th Anniversary to the Alice Cooper album: Hey Stoopid. This is one of my favorite Alice Cooper albums. It features guest appearances from Slash, Ozzy Osbourne, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, Joe Satriani, and Steve Vai while Bryan Adams drummer Mickey Curry drummed on the album. The brilliant Desmond Child returns to co-write songs but unlike Trash, only co-writes two songs (Dangerous Tonight and Might As Well Be On Mars) while long time Cooper guitarist Dick Wagner co-wrote the latter.

The Benefits of Spiritual Successors

The Benefits of Spritual Successors
June 12, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

Through out the decades, the world of video games have had many classic games, lovable characters, and amazing franchises. Of these characters and franchise, many have become iconic and household names. Unfortunately, certain franchises have seemingly been cast aside with companies not making new games as they gather dust. However, with that, game designers have since struck out on their own and have been creating "spiritual successors" like Mighty No. 9 (a spiritual successor to Mega Man) and Yooka-Laylee (a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie). No doubt, a lot of people are for it and a lot yearn for the classics. With upcoming spiritual successors on the horizon, it seems like the best time to look at the benefits of them.

With many classic franchises having become dormant over the years, spiritual successors allow us to relive them in another way. Who knows when we'll get a new Mega Man game but Mighty No. 9 can potentially fill a void and allow us to somewhat relive the good old days but with new material instead of playing the same game (even if it is a classic) a million times. Same goes with Banjo-Kazooie. It's unknown when the next one will come out so Yooka-Laylee could fill that void of giving us a similar game but a new game instead of having to play the same games over and over again because even a classic can get boring if you play it too much.

Spiritual Successors also give the game designers clean slates. Unfortunately, when franchises get so popular, they're almost expected to be the same and you risk alienating long time fans if you try to experiment with a popular franchise and deviate from the tried and true formula. To this day, games like Zelda II: The Adventure of Link and Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest are probably the most debatable and polarizing in their respective franchises as they deviated from the first game and many of the following games. When a lot of well known franchises do so many games with the same formula, a lot of controversy will happen when they try to deviate. When Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker's cartoon like graphics were first shown, there was a ton of backlash because it wasn't like the usual Zelda game. When Metroid Prime: Federation Forces' first trailer was released, fans absolutely despised it because it wasn't the typical Metroid among other reasons. Yooka-Laylee's predessor: Banjo-Kazooie had the same situation as Banjo-Kazooie was a masterpiece and Banjo-Tooie was a very good sequel that followed the formula. However, the recent game: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts was not as well received and got mixed reviews because it strayed from the traditional formula. To be fair, some have benefited as Castlevania achieved big success with the Metroid-Vania style of Castlevania games with Symphony of the Night not only be the first to use that engine but is also been considered the greatest Castlevania of all time. This is where a spiritual successor benefits as the game designers can experiment and try stuff without having to risk aliening long time fans. I'm sure Keiji Inafume has had ideas for Mega Man but hadn't used them cause either he or Capcom thought it wouldn't go over well with fans but now with Mighty No. 9, he can be more creative instead of being trapped in the same box. Same goes for the former Rare executives as they can try things with Yooka-Laylee that they might not have been able to do with Banjo-Kazooie and they probably remember the mixed reviews of Nuts & Bolts. Plus, if games like Mighty No. 9 and Yooka-Laylee do introduce new things that do well, maybe future Mega Man and Banjo-Kazooie can try and not only be improved by them but they we'll be more welcomed.

There's also the fact that the classic franchises can benefit and possibly return. In the end, the video game industry is a business and they're about making money. If Mighty No. 9 and Yooka-Laylee enjoy success and make a lot of money then the video game industry can see that these older franchises can not only still be money but be gravy trains. If Mighty No. 9 does great then Capcom can see there's money to be made in Mega Man and if Yooka-Laylee does great then Rare and Microsoft can see Banjo-Kazooie will make money.

Finally, if these new games do great and older games return then that could lead to competition. If the game companies don't rest on their franchises proven track record or name then they can release the best new games possible. That would lead to the people behind Mighty No. 9 and Yooka-Laylee then working harder to prove that name or established franchises aren't everything and prove that they got the better games. Competition brings out the best in people as you got two companies trying to outdo the other and show the world that their games is the best. The players are then the big winners as these companies will keep releasing the best games they can make and give players new games to treasure.

Ultimately, it's a wait and see on whether the spiritual successors unleash their true potential or not. Given their successors to classic games, they got big shoes to fill and a lot to prove but one thing is certain and that is the possibilities are incredible.

You know. Fighters are known to have nicknames whether it be in boxing, kickboxing, or mixed martial arts. Many are well known in MMA and popular whether it be The Ax Murderer (Wanderlei Silva), The Iceman (Chuck Liddell), The Korean Zombie (Chan Sung Jung), The Spider (Anderson Silva), Cro Cop (Mirko Filipovic), and The Last Emperor (Fedor Emelianenko) to name some but there are plenty more out there that don't get as much love despite their coolness. Here's a few.
The Snowman (Jeff Monson)
Neo-Samurai (Genki Sudo)
The Techno Goliath (Hong-Man Choi)
The Korean Colossus (Hong-Man Choi)
The Sandman (Guy Mezger)
The Legend (Frank Shamrock)
Megapunk (James Thompson)
The Colossus (James Thompson)
The Smashing Machine (Mark Kerr)
The Titan (Mark Kerr)
Ice Cold (Igor Vovchanchyn)
The Ukraine Freight Train (Igor Vovchanchyn)
The Supersized Samurai (Semmy Schilt)
The Sage of The Combat Sports World (Tsuyoshi Kohsaka)
Shogun (Mauricio Rua)
Ninja (Murilo Rua)
The Dreamcatcher (Gegard Mousasi)
King Mo (Muhammad Lawal)
Minowaman (Ikuhisa Minowa)
I don't think there's many MMA fighters with cooler names than "Luke Rockhold". That dude was blessed with a bad ass name.

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the official beginning of Guns N' Roses' Use Your Illusion Tour. I say official because they played at Rock in Rio II and some warm up shows. The tour ran eight legs and was one of the longest in history as it went 26 months eventually concluding on July 17, 1993 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The tour featured many big and infamous GNR moments including two riots on July 2, 1991 and August 8, 1992 but it also featured the band performing at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium on April 20, 1992. The tour was the first for keyboardist Dizzy Reed as an official member and drummer Matt Sorum. It also featured a lineup change with rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin who quit the band on November 7, 1991 and was replaced by Gilby Clarke though Stradlin returned for five shows to fill in for an injured Clarke. Until this year, the tour would be the final one for Slash and Duff McKagan who eventually left the band in 1996 and 1997 respectively.

Saw Captain America: Civil War on Monday and it was another great movie from Marvel and Disney. Thought it was well written and the acting was good. The story was good and whether you agreed with either Cap or Iron Man, neither came off as villains. It was nice to see Spider-Man in an Avengers movie. It also left me looking forward to the two part Avengers: Infinity War coming in 2018 and 2019. The only knock on the movie was Crossbones, who I was looking forward to, was barely in it and may have gotten killed off early on (though it appears it may not be the case).

Blue Oyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper (Audio)

Happy 40th Anniversary to the Blue Oyster Cult album Agents of Fortune which featured one of the bands signature songs: (Don't Fear) The Reaper. The album went platinum with (Don't Fear) The Reaper shooting to #12 on the Billboard 100.

Possible Names To Consider For The TNA Hall of Fame

Possible Names To Consider For The TNA Hall of Fame
May 7, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

With Slammiversary coming up in June, it means TNA will announce at least one new member for the TNA Hall of Fame. No doubt, many TNA fans have their picks so I decided to create a list of possible inductees who could likely be overlooked. Keep in mind, I'm only picking names for people who are near the end of their careers or are retired.

WWE Spring Cleaning

WWE Spring Cleaning
May 1, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

Well, it's that time again. Wrestlemania has come and gone which means new talent gets signed or called up from the main roster. With so many new talents coming to the WWE, the main roster is getting overloaded and the WWE is likely to cut wrestlers. Sadly, the WWE has plenty to choose from and I'll create of list of names on people who probably should be cut. Keep in mind, the people that I think should be cut are people you could cut today. As a result, I won't pick guys like Big Show and Kane who need to step aside as they can be used to put over new talent for the foreseeable future. I also won't pick someone like Mark Henry since he may be retiring and I won't pick someone who I don't feel is being wasted like Heath Slater and R-Truth mostly because the WWE needs prelim guys

Exposing The Hypocrisies of Jim Cornette

Exposing The Hypocrisies of Jim Cornette
April 21, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

Jim Cornette is a legend in the wrestling business and has been involved in the business for four decades while becoming sort of a messiah to the internet wrestling fans largely for his entertaining shoot interviews and DVDs where he unleashes his verbal venom on certain targets. However, Cornette shown also be known for being hypocritical as well as very outdated. In the last ten years, he's burned one bridge after another all the while talking about the death of wrestling and whining about one thing after another. Don't me wrong, I can find Cornette entertaining as he can be funny and is never boring but after the same thing for 10+ years if not more, it's old. What's even worse is that Cornette and old school wrestling isn't pure as snow. Like a lot of people, Cornette views the past through rose colored glasses but it's gone too far for so long. I probably should've wrote this a long time ago but I finally decided to call Cornette out on his BS as I'll go through his talking points and debunk them while showing he & old school rasslin isn't any better than the wrestling he despises today.

Prince - Trust (Batman, 1989 Soundtrack)

In tribute to Prince and the fact that this year will be the 240th birthday for the United States, we should do a Joker Parade.

Batman (1989): Joker Museum Scene

Can't say I was a Prince fan but I'll always remember him for the songs he did for the 1989 Batman like Party Man and Trust.

JJ Jackson MTV 1984

Today would've been the 75th birthday of original MTV VJ J.J. Jackson. Jackson was one of the first MTV VJs along with Nina Blackwood, Alan Hunter, Martha Quinn, and Mark Goodman. I never watched much MTV but from the clips I've seen, Jackson seemed like a cool dude who knew his stuff but I'll always remember him for hosting the segment where KISS took the makeup off on September 18, 1983. Sadly, he passed away on St. Patrick's Day 2004 which prevented him from reuniting with the other original VJs on Sirius Satellite Radio.

Jake Roberts interviews BlackJack Mulligan

Sad to hear about the passing of WWE Hall of Famer and former WWE World Tag Team Champion Blackjack Mulligan at 73. Mulligan, of course, best known for his tag team The Blackjacks with Blackjack Lanza but also had lots of success in singles competition. Mulligan was also the patriarch of the Windham/Rotunda wrestling family which includes son-in-law Mike "I.R.S." Rotunda, sons Barry and Kendall Windham, and grandsons Bray Wyatt & Bo Dallas. Here's an awesome clip of him. Before CM Punk was talking about ice cream bars, Blackjack was the king of pimping WWE Ice Cream Bars.

Saw Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice last night and I really liked it. I was a little worried given the negative reviews but I didn't think it was bad at all and didn't get why so many critics hated it. I thought the acting was good, the visuals were good, the costumes, and fight scenes were all good. Ben Affleck pulled a Michael Keaton as people were skeptical but in the end, he did very well. Don't get me wrong, Keaton will always be my favorite Batman but he still did good. Cavill was good as Superman and Gal Gadot did good as Wonder Woman though we didn't see as much of her. Doomsday looked great though I wish he had some costume or his green shorts as he reminded me of Dr. Doom from the original Fantastic Four. I kind of enjoyed Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor as he's kind of nutty and goofy which he does well and I like they tried something a little different then the same Lex Luthor we've seen countless times since Gene Hackman. It reminded me of Penguin from Batman Returns where they tried something different instead of the same old, same old. The stuff with Batman was a huge improvement over Christopher Nolan's stuff. The costume looks way better instead of the DK and DKR ones where he looked like he had a skinny neck and fat head. The Batmobile looked awesome and The Batwing looked good too. I also liked the time. Unlike The Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises, I felt this movie needed to be 150 minutes and never dragged while telling the story. I also liked how the movie was dark as it seems like the DC Universe will have a different tone than Marvel and thus won't come off as a ripoff. My only negative was Hans Zimmer's score. I've never been into his music with the Nolan trilogy and it's very forgettable. Having also done Man of Steel, this is his fifth DC Comic movie and I think they need someone new. They should try to find someone that can capture the magic of Danny Elfman's amazing scores and have that brooding music but also stuff that's blood pumping, sad, beautiful, and epic depending on the scene. As for those who complain it was too dark, I would ask have they learned anything from Batman & Robin? If not then go watch that or the 60s show (which is good but still). I recommend Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Not the greatest superhero movie but still good.

Gotta love hearing that Harrison Ford will return as Indiana Jones but it will be in 2019. Look, Ford is one of the greatest action stars in American Cinema but he'll be 77 when it comes out. Even Charles Bronson stopped doing Death Wish movies before he turned 75 and here I thought Death Wish V coming out two months after his 72nd birthday was getting up there. Then again, if he can survive a nuclear blast by hiding in a fridge then he'll be fine.

Time for WWE and Others to Once Again Acknowledge Chris Benoit Existed

Time for WWE and Others to Once Again Acknowledge Chris Benoit Existed

By Ryan Porzl

The story of Chris Benoit's double murder/homicide is well known by now as well the fact that many including the WWE have tried to avoid discussing Benoit and have more or less erased him from the history books. While there was no justifiable reason for his actions, it's still ridiculous to try and pretend that he's never existed. Before I begin this article, I want to set the record straight that I don't agree or condone what Benoit did. However, I do think he did what he did not because he was a monster but because was mentally ill which I go further into.

Seinfeld- the dominicans

I'm not getting political here but I hear that President Obama is visiting Cuba but my problem is that I think he'll only meet Raul Castro and not his or Fidel's brother: Dennis, er, Duane who Kramer's Dominicans supposedly rolled cigars for. Sorry, with Cuba in the news, I had to get that Seinfeld joke in.

KISS - Sweet Pain

KISS - King of the Night Time World

Happy 40th Anniversary to Destroyer. KISS Detroit Rock City - Destroyer

Happy 40th Anniversary to KISS album ‪#‎Destroyer‬. The album can be considered KISS' greatest and most popular studio album with songs like Detroit Rock City, King of the Nighttime World, God of Thunder, Shout It Out Loud, and Beth as well as the bands first collaboration with legendary producer Bob Ezrin (best known outside of KISS for his work with Alice Cooper and being a co-producer on Pink Floyd's The Wall).

Wrestlemania VII: What Happened?

Wrestlemania VII: What Happened?
March 7, 2016
By Ryan Porzl

On April 1, 1990, The World Wrestling Federation held Wrestlemania VI at Skydome drawing 67,678 people. It was a historic event but among the big things to happen at the show, one big moment was the company thinking ahead and making the huge announcement that Wrestlemania VII would be held at The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum with the hope being that they would get 100,000 fans to attend and break all records. At the time, it seemed huge and WWF had all the momentum in the world to make it work as they had the TV and the talent both present and future. Yet, The World Wrestling Federation would lose momentum throughout 1990 and nine months later in January 1991, The WWF came to the realization that they wouldn't come close to selling the coliseum and moved the show to The Los Angeles Sports Arena. So what happened? How did The WWF go from planning to get 100,000 people at the Coliseum to having to settle for 16,158 fans at the Sports Arena? Well, with the 25th anniversary of the event coming up this March 24th, we'll take a look at the missteps The WWF had throughout 1990 that saw them destroy their momentum as well as the bad luck and somewhat bad timing.
