Weight Class:                                         Bantamweight (135 pounds)

Notes:

Preview: Moraes is riding a five fight win streak. His recent win was over Brandon Hempleman by unanimous decision at WSOF 4 (August 10, 2013). Beebe is coming off a win over Joe Murphy by WSOF 3 (June 14, 2013).

Predictions: Moraes. Moraes is at the top of his game right now and has looked more impressive with each fight. Moraes is a good striker with knockout power. He also uses combos and doesn't just rely on throwing one punch or haymaker. Beebe is more of a ground fighter who wins most of his fights by submission. While Moraes has been submitted twice in his career, he likely has worked on his submission defense since Miguel Torres has won nearly 25 fights by submission and he couldn't submit Moraes.

Dan Lauzon vs. Justin Gaethje
Nickname:                                      The Upgrade   |         None
Height:                                                  6'0            |          5'11
Age:                                                       25             |           24

Team:                                      Lauzon Martial Arts | Grudge Training Center
Weight Class:                                        Lightweight (155 pounds)

Notes:

Preview: Lauzon is riding a five fight win streak. His recent win was over John Gunderson by unanimous decision at WSOF 3 (June 14, 2013). Gaethje is undefeated with nine wins. His recent win was over Brian Cobb by TKO at WSOF 3 (June 14, 2013).

Predictions: Gaethje. Bas Rutten has described Gaethje's style to be like Chuck Liddell which is very appropriate. Gaethje is a striker at heart and is very good at it. He also has a lot of knockout power and very good leg kicks. He compliments his striking with a great wrestling as has very good takedown defense and can get up quickly if he does get taken down. Lauzon prefers to strike but Gaethje has never been knocked out while Lauzon has once.

Jon Fitch vs. Marcelo Alfaya
Nickname:                                           None      |             Grilo
Height:                                                   6'0        |             5'11
Age:                                                        35        |               34
MMA Record (WSOF):      24-6-1, 1NC (0-1) |    15-6, 1NC (1-0)
Arm Length:                                          74 in.     |            68.5 in.
Team:                 American Kickboxing Academy | American Top Team
Weight Class:                                    Welterweight (170 pounds)

Notes: Alfaya's WSOF debut

Preview: Fitch is riding a two fight losing streak. His recent loss was to Josh Burkman by technical submission at WSOF 3 (June 14, 2013). Alfaya is riding a three fight win streak. His recent win was over Valdir Araujo by KO at CFA 9 (January 19, 2013).

Predictions: Fitch. Fitch has been on a slump lately but it's still hard to go against him. He's still a very good wrestler and can grind most fighters. Fitch is predictable but he's still very good at what he does. Alfaya isn't a bad fighter but it's doubtful he has the one punch knockout power that Johny Hendricks possesses and he doesn't have the same BJJ skills that Damian Maia has. Fitch is also a big welterweight which is a benefit to have for someone who takes opponents down and grinds them for three rounds.

Josh Burkman vs. Steve Carl
Nickname:                                 The People's Warrior |        None
Height:                                                      5'10            |         6'0
Age:                                                            33             |          28
MMA Record (WSOF):                     26-9 (3-0)        |    20-3 (2-0)
Arm Length:                                              72 in.         | Unknown
Team:                               The Pit Elevated Fight Team | Team Hard Drive
Weight Class:                                        Welterweight (170 pounds)

Notes: For the WSOF Welterweight Championship

Preview: Burkman is riding a five fight win streak. His recent win was over Jon Fitch by technical submission at WSOF 3 (June 14, 2013). Carl is riding a six fight win streak. His recent win was over Tyson Steele by unanimous decision at WSOF 3 (June 14, 2013).

Predictions: Burkman. Burkman has a lot of momentum and his confidence is the best it's probably ever been. Carl is one dimensional and usually gets wins by submission. Burkman has a very good wrestling background and showed his submission skills by defeating Jon Fitch by technical submission which was incredible given Fitch's well known submission defense. So it might be difficult to get Burkman to the ground and even if he did, it still won't be easy. Burkman has been submitted five times in his career but the last time was five year ago. He also showed his knockout power against Aaron Simpson earlier this year which proves he's a threat regardless of where the fight goes.
