Dr. No (1962) title sequence

Happy 60th Anniversary to James Bond film Dr. No and the James Bond movie series. Interesting note. In the gun barrel sequence, James Bond was actually played by stuntman Bob Simmons. Sean Connery didn't do the sequence until the fourth film Thunderball. Not sure why.

Happy 50th Anniversary to the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever, Sean Connery's return to the James Bond role after skipping On Her Majesty's Secret Service. It would be his sixth outing and his final "official" James Bond film with the 1983 Thunderball remake Never Say Never Again being "unofficial" (long story). Singer Shirley Bassey also returned to sing the theme becoming the first and to date only singer to perform more than one Bond song having previously done Goldfinger and later returned for Moonraker.

Very sad to hear the passing of Sean Connery but the plus side, 90 is a long and great life. What can I say, he was a giant in film and one of those guys you can't believe would ever die. Women wanted him and men wanted to be him. Suave, a bad ass, and a man's man. Obviously, he'll always be remembered as James Bond and was a huge reason why the Bond series is one of the greatest franchises in movie history. Along with his seven outings, he was also great in The Untouchables (which he rightfully won an Oscar for), Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, and The Rock to name some.

A View to a Kill Opening Title Sequence

Happy 35th Anniversary to the James Bond film A View To A Kill, Roger Moore's seventh and final Bond film. The film was also the 14th and final film for Lois Maxwell as Miss Moneypenny as she played the character since the first film Dr. No in 1962. Christopher Walken made history becoming the first Academy Award winner to play a Bond villain when he played Max Zorin. Duran Duran's title song is definitely one of the best in the series.

The One and Done: A Look at George Lazenby in James Bond

The One and Done: A Look at George Lazenby in James Bond
December 16, 2019
By Ryan Porzl

In August 1967, the James Bond series was at an all time high coming off it's fifth film You Only Live Twice back in June and was the third Bond film in a row to gross more than $100 million. However, all good things must come to an end as it was at this point where the franchise suffered a big blow when original James Bond Sean Connery announced his departure from the role after five years and five films. There were obvious questions about whether the franchise could survive without Connery or if Bond was merely a fad that would begin to fizzle out. With money to be made, the series continued but after several names ranging from actors who played superheroes to future Bond actors, the man assigned to fill Connery's shoes was an Australian model with little acting experience named George Lazenby. Despite the seemingly impossible task, Lazenby made his mark leaving as fast as he came and exiting the role after only one film and mixed reviews. With the 50th Anniversary of his only outing of 007 approaching, let's take a look at George Lazenby: The One and Done James Bond. This article does contain spoilers.

jane dans live and let die 9

Happy 80th Birthday to the underrated and talented actor Yaphet Kotto. Kotto is best known as Dr. Kananga/Mr. Big, the first main black villain in the James Bond franchise in Live and Let Die along with his Emmy Award nominated performance as Ugandan President Idi Amin in Raid on Entebbe, He's also known for playing Parker in Alien, William Laughlin in The Running Man, Alonzo Mosely in Midnight Run, Doc in Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, and Lt. Al "Gee" Giardello on the television show Homicide: Life on the Street. He was also once considered for the role of Lando Calrissian in Star Wars and may have been considered for the role of Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

James Bond - Moonraker Intro + Song

Happy 40th Anniversary to Moonraker, the 11th James Bond and Roger Moore's fourth as 007. The movie sees the return of Richard Kiel as the iconic villain Jaws and the final one to feature original M Bernard Lee who had played M since the first Bond Dr. No in 1962 as he passed away in 1981 during production of For Your Eyes Only though he wasn't able. The song is sung by Shirley Bassey who makes history singing her third Bond theme after having already done Goldfinger in 1964 and Diamonds Are Forever in 1971. As of 2019, Bassey is the only singer to sung more than one Bond theme.

LICENCE TO KILL HIGH DEFINITION

Happy belated 30th Anniversary to Licence To Kill, the 16th official James Bond which premiered on June 13th. One of the greatest Bonds of all time, it also proved to be the end of an era in many ways. The film marked Timothy Dalton's second and (sadly) final outing as James Bond while being the last to feature Robert Brown as M after four movies and Caroline Bliss as Miss Moneypenny.

James Bond From Russia With Love Train Fight

Before he was the shark hunter Quint in Jaws, Robert Shaw was bad ass as SPECTRE agent Donald "Red" Grant in From Russia With Love. He also began the classic Bond trope of big strong blonde haired henchmen. One day, they should equip watches with hidden garrote wires as a defense mechanism. Get the jump on intruders.

First Appearance of Desmond Llewelyn as Q - From Russia With Love HD

The beginning of a legend. Desmond Llewelyn's first appearance as Q in James Bond. He would play the role for 17 films spanning 36 years.

John Barry - "007" (From Russia With Love, 1963)

Great song from the great John Barry that debuted in From Russia With Love and was to serve as a secondary theme. Sadly, "007" didn't stand the test of time as it was only used for a few films and hasn't been used in it's entirety since 1979's Moonraker.

35th Anniversary: A Look Back At The Battle of the Bonds

May 16, 2018
By Ryan Porzl

For more than 55 years, the James Bond series has been around and been one of the biggest movie series in history. Through it all, the movies were largely done by Eon Productions and distributed by United Artists & MGM with very few exceptions. One of the those exceptions was in 1967 when a spoof of Casino Royale came out during Eon's You Only Live Twice. The second was far more interesting when in 1983 Eon's Octopussy featuring arguably the most popular actor to portray 007 went head to head against Never Say Never Again, a movie that was a remake of the previous Eon film Thunderball while starring the actor who returned to the role after a dozen years that he helped make famous. Even more so, it was a battle over two decades in the making that originally began between a producer against Bond creator Ian Fleming that continued with Eon. How did this happen and how did we get there? To celebrate the 35th Anniversary of what became known as "The Battle of the Bonds", we'll take a look at the beginning of Bond to the controversy over Thunderball to the events that led to the 1983 battle to the aftermath.
