A Look at AJPW's Champion's Night ~ From The Land Of Triple Crown Unification Flight To The 50th Anniversary

On June 26th, All Japan Pro Wrestling will present their Champion's Night event at Ota City General Gymnasium, a venue where they previously unified the NWA International Heavyweight Championship, the NWA United National Championship, and the PWF World Heavyweight Championship into the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship, All Japan's current top prize back on April 18, 1989. The event will feature four title matches, a different style fight, a memorial match paying tribute to one of All Japan and wrestling's all time greats, and more. Being an All Japan fan and with not enough people talking about it, I figure I go through all the matches, their background, and my thoughts on them along with who I think will win. By the way, if anyone is interested in this show or current All Japan, AJPW.tv offers current shows at around 900 yen and about ten dollars after taxes. It doesn't have the classic 80s and 90s stuff but still has some gems going back to the early 2000s.

Know I'm off by two days but sad to hear about the passing of Ned Beatty. He obviously had a big career and is known for a variety of roles from Deliverance, Network, Superman, and Toy Story 3 to name some. While I didn't follow his career, he'll always be known to me as Detective Stanley "The Big Man" Bolander on Homicide: Life on the Street. Sad we just lost Yaphet Kotto and now Beatty. Two Homicide alumni in 3 months.

Professional Wrestling has had it's share of comebacks. Because wrestlers usually don't know when to quit or want that "one last run", many have attempted to make comebacks after having a great run. The WWE is no different. Over the decades, many all time greats made their way to WWE and many had great runs but a lot have also attempted comebacks. Some comebacks have wielded some to great success while others weren't able to recapture the magic and even more painful, some attempted several times to no luck while others did have a successful comeback but came back one time too many. Here now is a list of wrestlers who fell on their face attempting a comeback.
