Anybody who knows their video game history (or read any of my recent anniversary articles), you know 1986 was a historic year for video games with franchises such as The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and Castlevania making their debuts in the land of the rising sun. However, right before the year was up, another new franchise debuted though sadly, never had the same impact as the others. That franchise was Kid Icarus.
